    Cumberland weeds/grass

Just a thought, As it appears that the banks out of the water are starting to have weed vegatation and if as we are told this will last for 7 years, those places will likely have some woody plants by that time.Cumberland has never had any water oriented plants on the bottom like Dale hollow on the bottom. why not import some for the down time of the stable lake as we have been told it will take several years to fix the dam. There are several areas that could support grass beds on the lake with stable levels of the lake as we have now, when the lake gets back to its full level with its winter draw down there would be no problem as it could never exist( for the grass beds) but it would kick start the bass fishery???

Not a bad idea at all. I personally feel that when Cumberalnd returns to it's normal levels that the lake will be red hot for a couple of years. Way back in the day it use to have a fair amount of buckbrush growing in it. I think alot of the buckbrush is beginning to grow in areas again, this is a good thing for the fish.

I was down there fishing over the weekend and I was having the same thoughts. Where we were fishing there was already alot of brush growing along all of the banks.

I was hoping nobody would ask how I did. Actually the overall day was pretty good. We got down there about an hour before daylight, put in at Waitsboro. I was fishing a jig in about 25 ft of water just before the sun got out. I felt a good thump and set the hook into a freight train. After fighting her a while I got her up to the boat and I saw the biggest smallmouth I've ever hooked into. She flopped off right at the boat. Obviously that was the bad part. We fished till about noon and I caught several nice kentucky's and a 3lb+ largemouth. All of these came in 20+ ft deep on an omega football head jig. We mainly fished in the creeks real close to the main lake and deep water.

    Re: Cumberland weeds/grass

Don't wory, I'm back on subject now...

Grass is a great idea, but only if it is the genetically pure native Cumberland strain. Why would we import northern grass that isn't suitable in our southern waters, when we have a rare expensive native grass that might maybe probably won't work. And while we're at it, nows a good time to remove all of this big aggressive striped ocean grass that doesn't belong here anyway.

(LOL) I only pick on the guys I truely respect. The ones that can out fish me any day of the week. Pretty much all you guys.
