Hey Dave,

I know you are the one who will know the answer to this.

We read all the time about the great fishing in the grass mats on Guntersville. Well, with the amount of grass I saw on south KY this year, have you had any success fishing the mats in the fall with rats or frogs?

I'm asking before I re-line several rods with braid. If this is not a pattern on our lakes yet, I don't want to spend the money for all that braid.

Also, if it is not a pattern yet, how come? What is your opinion on why our fish are not falling into that pattern?

Had a great bite on the mats in June and July with frogs. Still some bite there but with the heat it seems the bigger fish are buried so far back and under the grass they are not coming up as well as they were...this should change when it cools down a little.

Thanks Dave for the super quick response. Jet-A got my boat ready for me, and I'll be picking it up either this evening or tomorrow, and figure I'll try my best to be out there tuesday or wednesday.
