I know this has been asked here before, just wanted to see if anything has changed since these baits seem to gain more popularity all the time...
Does anyone have experience with swimbaits on Kentucky or Barkley?
Thx

nope...but have ya ever heard of the salmon spoon
I used some of the custom swim baits out of California a few years back when they first came out....and caught some nice fish on them during the fall. Can't remember now the name of them but they cost 7.00 each. Problem was you only got one fish per bait and they tore up easily. Can't make any money as a guide for that kind of tradeoff..lol. I am supposed to be getting some new swim baits sent to me soon and I am going to give them a try for sure.
I bought a few of those mass produced, small, swim baits, but dang it, I keep forgetting to tie them on. I have both baby crappie and baby bluegill. Seems terrible to buy a bait and not use it... I should be banished to the lake for several days!!

I've tried some of the lower priced baits and had very little luck. That said, I did not have much confidence so may not have given them a fair shake. Just hard for me to get rid of the C-Rig when fishing deep and RT's and topwaters when shallow. Guess I'm a creature of habbit.
i have done pretty good on the storm ones that look like a big sassy shad. They do ok if the fish are schooling in the bays and pockets.I have not done any ledge fishing with them but i a have some in the 6" size that are heavy,i wondered how they'd do compared to a big crank since they don't pull as hard.
Was down on Barkley last summer fishing a road bed, and we were catching fish nearly every cast on c-rig lizards. My partner had bought some of the storm swim baits, he was wanting to try. I said now would be a good time to try them out. He made about a dozen casts without a strike, while I put several more fish in the boat on the c-rig. He hasn't used them since.
