Fished Clay's Ferry from 11am until dark yesterday. Water Temp was 77-78 degrees. Water was down a couple of feet and slightly stained. Caught over 30 using a medium size spinner bait and a Rapala Jerk. They were tight to the trees and stumps. Mostly largemouth and a couple of small mouth. No problem putting a boat in at the ramp.
Hope this helps someone.![]()
Any size to the bass? thanks
I put the kayak in at high bridge yesterday afternoon and fished for a couple of hours. I threw a crank and a swim bait and didn't have a sniff.
Biggest were 2 smallmouth. One 16" and one 17". Caught 2 bass around 2 lbs the rest were a pound or smaller. Hitting hard. I missed one that took me into a tree that was really good for a river bass, maybe 4lbs. I don't think it was a matter of the big bass not being there but getting through the smaller bass and bluegill. I would have 2 or 3 following the one I caught.
Are you putting in near the "Riptide"? If so have you had any problem with leaving your vehicle and trailer there? I put in there many years ago and it was fine. Just wondering....![]()
I've left my truck/trailer there overnite on 3 occasions recently and while I didn't feel real good about it, it was intact in the morning.
Nice report...
I've put in at Riptide 5 times in the last couple of months. No problems.....knock on wood.
is riptide the dock right below clays ferry that has a bar and volleyball and stuff
LM are holding in the wood in the Ky right now, and if you flip a lizard into the trees and stumps you can catch some nice bass. They are not on the rocky banks as of Sunday.
