Fished a couple of hours yesterday afternoon without much luck. Fished an area I'm 100% positive is holding fish, but couldn't get a sniff till just before dark. Missed 2 bites but had to leave before primetime. Just before I left a 2 lb smallie almost jumped up onto the deck of my boat at my feet. He was trying to run me off so he could have supper without me socking him in the jaw.
Some good bass are showing up in the shallows early and late in the day. Fish the cuts off the main lake and in the mouth of Skaggs creek with crankbaits (tubes should work for numbers). Best chance for the shallow bite is dawn till sun gets up and dusk till ?. Fish the same places and points 8-16ft with a jig for some better size. Also heard a C-rig is working, but haven't been throwing it. Good luck.
