Headed to Barkley next weekend for an extended weekend fishing trip with a few of the fellas. Been there several times but have never camped on the lake. Any good, off the beaten trail back country sites anyone might recommend?? Looking at Cravens Bay, but might want to get further off the trail.

Cravens Bay is decent. If you are looking for showers or electricity, you'll have to stay at one of the bigger ones. Any of the LBL campgrounds are handy, but there is more camping on the Kentucky Lake side than Barkley.
I stay at Hillman ferry pretty often, and when we want to fish Barkley, I usually trailer across the LBL to Cravens Bay because it's faster, cheaper and easier than running by lake.
Check out www.lbl.org for more information.
never stayed at cravens bay. on kentucky side at birmingham ferry. want to go to barkley from there you just go across the trace. about a 15 minute drive.
If you wanna stay on barkley you wont find a better campground than prizer's point, I believe it just became a KOA, its nice there. right around midlake too.
Wranglers Campground. It's an excellent place to camp, the cabins are primitive, but nice and clean. We had one back in the corner all to ourselves real close to the showers/restrooms. If you stay there, you have great access to Ky and Barkley.
