Just a big thank you to CTFSHWHISKER for a great fishing trip today on Nolin.
Unfortunately, we were not able to find Chris Hines of KC Lures to fish his tournament, but then there were about 200 boats going out of Wax for other tournaments.
We took SuperSprint's advice and fished with helicopter lures, in pink, and we just wore out the fish. Well, actually CTFSHWHISKER wore out the fish, and I mostly just watched. It is a shame we could not have been in one of the tournaments, as it didn't seem that the bass fishermen were staying put. Most seemed to be running and gunning.
We did hear what sounded like Mike Iconnelli catching a fish... man that guy was excited. LOL But I think it was one 'Whisker had just let go a few minutes earlier.
Anyway, thanks a lot, had a great day. I hope we can do it again soon.

Well, when can we expect a full report on Nolin and how to catch them? Come now your conscience will feel better if you tell everyone....
Now maybe you understand why I was trying to get a feel for the amount of boats that were going out of Wax. I had heard of a few different tournaments and want to figure out if we should move our little 10 boat tournament... I wish I had after dealing with that mess.
It took over 13 lbs to win our little club tourney down there, with all the boats that was a great day. I finished third and caught them on D&L baby advantage Cumberland Craw jigs and Lucky craft Sammy is ghost pearl lemon. Caught most of them early before the boats decided run everywhere....
By the way does anyone from INDIANA know what an idle only/no wake zone is? I never have seen more people throw a three foot wake in a no wake zone al with IN on the side of their boat.
I wish I had known you were there, I would have said hi!! Actually, the Southern IN Bassmasters had a tourney there, but they said they only had 9 or 10 boats. Then there was the GreenRiver Bass Club, they had 43, I believe, and a Manufacturers Association that was over 70 boats. Man, I was worried about finding the ramp, then came around the curve and found I had to sit in line 4 deep just to turn into the ramp. Sheesh. First time there, dark, had no idea where I was going... ended up parking in the top lot talking to some of the GreenRiver guys after I had surveyed the parking lot two times.Well, when can we expect a full report on Nolin and how to catch them? Actually, and I will tell the truth, we did catch about 12-15 bass, but we quit aroung 1 and since we went to another ramp we did not really get on the water until around 7.
My parther caught his on crankbaits and most of them on a shakey head worm. My first fish came on a jig with paca craw trailer. I went and bought a bunch more paca products today, along with some spot remover jigs. We got a few of the fish on white crankbaits, shallow running. In fact, I had about a 6 incher on, and got a back spasm, and was bent over the seat hoping the fish would jump off. I guess it did, and then I reeled in a 13 incher. LOL
We had one keeper, and two that were just under 15, so we would have weighed three fish, maybe 5 lbs. I'd say the largest was about 2.5, maybe.
I was fishing with ctfshwhisker, and we had a fantastic time. I really do wish I could have met you and said hi to you. It would have been nice to add another face to the names on here.
BTW, which tourney did you fish? also I heard there was at least three tournies out of moutidere, and one of them had over 60 boats. We ended up at Iberia. Not a place I would really want to launch alone.
That was only the second time on the lake for me, and I really liked the lake. I love the shoreline. No cover like that at KY and Barkley. I am now definately hooked on fishing a jig.... just had to catch a few i guess. I was disappointed with my tube efforts though, and my TX rigs.
It would be fun to meet up down there sometime and do some fishing. It does sound like you know the lake a lot better than I do. Ctfshwhisker had me totally lost. If he had not been with me, I would have had to use the tracking feature on the GPS to get me back to the ramp....LOL
Glad you guys did well.

Blue Sprint with 150 Opti-max.... Loud yell, was me....
Hey SS,
Was that you that caught that fish out on the drop and did the Ike/Hackney imitation? My eyes aren't good enough to see what kind of boat it was, but I heard things like "get you some of that" (Hackney) and a lot of whooping... (Ike)... LMAO
Had we known that was you, I'm sure we would have come over to say hi. That bank we were on is where we caught most of our fish. Very few came after we left that bank, but then it was much brighter, and who would've thought the mud lines would be out by 10 AM.
I take it that was your big fish? It's a shame we didn't get to say hi.
Danny
