andrew,
most of the peabody wma's over here in Ohio Co. and Muhlenberg Co. have been sold.
I know all the good lakes in Ohio co. are closed and over 6,000 acres here in Muhlenberg Co. have been sold.
Good luck,
Danny

I have the week off and my nephew wants to hunt squirrels and we want to fish from our kayaks. Any ideas on where we can go. Water is so low some places its difficult. What about western Ky at Peabody WMA. Never been there, but understand there are lots of coal mine lakes to fish. Hunting should be good too. I live in Bullitt Co so I don't want to go more than 3 hours away.

you might want to try Yellowbank in Breckenridge County. Yellowbank Creek has a launch ramp near the river and not a lot of flow so you could go upstream and hunt and fish. There are also several ponds/small lakes on the property as well. They have a primitive campground as well. It is only about an hour to hour and a half from Shepherdsville depending on how fast you want to drive.
If you want to hunt and fish at the same time, try Taylorsville. Theres more squirrels than you care to shoot at and the fishin is startin to improve.
