Fishing the Falls from the Bank

I saw the previous post on fishing from a boat, but was wondering if there are any decent places where you can fish the Ohio near the lower dam from the bank. The upper hasn't been running much water with the drought so I haven't had much success up there. I've never fished the river further down past the interpretive center and big eddy. Is there anywhere that has decent running water that is accessible from the bank with the current conditions? Also I think a KY license is valid in the interpretive center area, is it also valid further down the river or do I need to get an IN license as well? I would appreciate any information you guys can lend.

I was there yesterday (just checking the place out) and saw a guy fishing from right next to the New Albany boat ramp (right off Harrison Ave), and he had 6 nice sauger on a stringer. As to the license, you're allowed to fish in ANY part of the Ohio river that borders on both IN and KY, with a license from either state. If you're fishing on a KY license, just don't go up the creeks on the IN side, and you're fine.

Lots of people fish the stretch of bank up and down from the Clarksville ramp just below the Interperative(sp?) Center. There is limited parking at the top of the ramp and ample bank space to fish. The bottom of the ramp seems to be the most popular. As with anywhere else, the fishing can be good if there is a little current going by the ramp. Good luck.
