is there any way to turn off the subscription so it doesn't keep every post stored?

What's the purpose of this option? Does anyone use it for reviewing their posts? Just wondering...

I do not use it personally, but I think it's so you can get notifications in your email when people reply to your posts. I could be wrong, though..

If that's what it is, it could be helpful if you were anxiously waiting for a reply or some information.

If there is a tiopis (thread) you are interested in you will receive email notification when a new post is made to that thread, so you don't have to go check it to see....I think.

You can set it to email you or not. Me, I have it set to automatically subscribe me to any threads I submit a post on, and instead of emailing when there's a new post (I love this board, but enough's enough), it just puts a little icon next to the thread telling me there's a new post.

Actually, now that I look, it's not doing anything special, it does that on ALL threads. So I guess the only functionality I get from subscriptions is the ability to go to User CP, click on List Subscriptions, and see a list of all the threads I've subscribed to, ie all the ones I've posted on. And now that I think about it, I don't think I ever TOLD it to subscribe me to them, it just does it. Does it do that for you guys too?

Re: can subscription be turned off?

Whenever there is a new reply to a thread on my PC. The topic is in a little more darker color and has also been put on top of all the others unless a new reply has been made to yet another Thread after that one. This automatically lets me know there are new posts to different threads. Once I read the post I click back on the KY Discussion board link and the color changes back to normal after the new screen pops back up. This might be the same for everyone else, but won't change in color if you just click on the go back button each time.

    Hope this helps.....
