I've never heard anything but pleasantries about old Doug M. I am going to meet this fellow someday this winter I hope when work and family life allow me.

A friend and I had the pleasure of spending Veteran's Day (on Monday) with Onemorecast on the Ohio River at Louisville. We wanted to learn a little about the river below McAlpine Dam, so Onemorecast was nice enough to take us out and show us the ropes. Boy, was it an entertaining and educational day!
In Doug's big center console bay boat, we covered about 12 miles of river from the Greenwood ramp all the way to McAlpine Dam. Doug (Onemorecast) shared his vast knowledge of the river and showed us not only how to locate the fish, but how to catch them. We caught fish at every place Doug stopped the boat... sauger, white bass, hybrids, white perch, catfish, and several other species. Either live minnows or small white twisters seemed to work best for us on this particular day.
I can't say enough about Doug and his knowledge of the Ohio River. It's great fun to watch somebody who really knows his stuff as he works his magic. And very educational, too. Doug seems to have radar under his cap when it comes to finding the big sauger. Somehow he managed to hook a bunch of them while two other fishermen in the boat couldn't come close to matching his catch. Thanks to Doug, we brought home over 20 nice sauger that should make some mighty fine eating in the near future.
Doug, thanks again for your fine hospitality and a great day on the water! Can't wait to do it again sometime.
Good fishing!

Yeah, I have to admit that Doug does know the river and just about the depth at any location, lol. If ya fish with him make sure your ears are well rested because he'll wear them out. He's a talker for sure. He will definitely keep ya entertained if the fish aren't being cooperative. I've been out with Doug a couple of times and have always learned something new about the river and caught some type of fish. He definitely is one of the nicest fellas you will ever meet. I have also had him do a little work on my boat and have some future motor work planned.
Hey Doug when are we getting together again? My freezer could use a few of them sauger.![]()
Hey Mr Mcfly.
Can you tell me what kinda lure you were using?
While Doug was talking to you, I caught the two white bass on a Fluke Junior on a 1/4 oz. leadhead. The other fish we caught were caught on white twisters on 1/8 to 1/4 oz. leadheads, and almost all of the sauger came on live minnows.
Hope this helps.
