    tilt and trim

Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about cmc tilt and trim units sold by bass pro? I have a 1977 Javelin 85 hp that starts and runs very well and was looking for something other than manual tilt.

no experience but nothing bad to say. CMC has been in business for a long time. I'd trust the design and the warranty. If you are driving to BPS to pick up then you will save shipping. I found other sites on web that were about 20.00 cheaper, but you'll be paying shipping. I don't know if I'd splurge for the gauge kit, I noticed its another 20 bucks or more and from personal experience I never use the guage on my trim. I just trim it up and watch rpm, speed and water pressure. Of course my jackplate has raised the motor up too. If you put on a CMC tilt n trim, I'd expect significant performance gains in hole shot and top end speed, because its adding some setback and also alowing you to trim to get the front end down for hole shot and bow of the boat up out of the water at high speed. Good Luck.

It should be just what the Doctor calls for on that motor of yours. Anything to help from lifting up and lowering that motor with your back muscles is well worth the money spent in my opinion.

Take it from someone with a bad back and has had 5 back surgeries, protect that back at any cost....Believe me you don't want a bad back.....

They work great but you might have to go to longer steering cable as your old one may be too short
