    Taylorsville report from last week...

Should have posted this sooner, sorry, got kinda busy.... fished last Monday had 11 total from about 10 am to dark 6 were keepers. Lost 2 big fish back to back, 4 cast apart. First one I never got to see, he stripped line and made my energy make a funny noise! Second got to the boat, my dad got a pretty good look he guessesd around 7 # or so which really means 5# or maybe 6# at best. Both were hooked about 200 yrds from settlers trace ramp. Weds. was a little tougher, rained buckets, rough water, caught 9,4 keepers, best around 3 1/2#, 1 was about 14" had to weigh 3#, looked like it swallowed a watermelon. Water was 53 and clear on Weds. I normally don't fish T-ville except late nov- Jan. I know it has a bad name during summer, (heck I guess it does I've never been there except when cold), but the fishing is really good this time of year. I tried a crankbait, no hits, baby brushhog, nothing. All were caught on jigs fished very very, slow, and I mean 1 cast took 2 or so minutes to get back in. One thing I have learned about that place is it must be a circus in summer, it's alot narrower than I thought it would be. Be safe and best wishes to Elwood, your in my prayers.

Nice day at T-Ville! I'm still looking for my first good day there, but I've only been there twice. I put in at Van Buren.

How deep were these fish? What structure were they on? What size/color jig and trailer were you using?

Glad to know somebody can do well at T-ville....!

Congrats on a couple of good days at T-ville. I keep tellin' everyone that lake is making a comeback, it's been very good to me this year and I look forward to learning even more about the lake next year. Maybe even breaking this years best fish of 6.4 lbs.

    Hey Worm1,

By "next year", do you mean after January 1st or next year as in warm weather fishing season? In my opinion, if you are not fishing T-ville in the wintertime you are missing some good fishing. The only time I fish there is from December through Februatry or March. I have gotten skunked many times but I have also had some very good days. I am going to try the FnF on T-ville this winter and see how that works.

Winter fishing is tough in several respects but the nice thing is that WHEN you do catch fish they are usually BIG FISH and frequently there are a lot of them in the same place. I actually prefer the cold weather over the heat--I can always wear enough to stay warm but when its hot there is only so much I can take off.

7-10 feet, all on wood out of the wind, found that banks that were out of the wind was where they were. Using 3/8 oz black/blue strike king with a lake fork blue trailer. Also, was using jacks juice real heavy-garlic. Don't know if that mattered but the old man was behind me and only had 2 bites all day, we switched,I went to the back and caught 2 so I just stuck with what was working. I know that I usually don't believe in spray stuff and it may not have mattered but I was getting bites and didn't want to break the run I was having! Remember to fish slowwwwww, I fish aggresive so it is hard for me to do but it will pay off. Good luck out there.

    Grumpy,
I mean 1/1/08, T-ville is my after work on weekdays lake and its hard to get there when it gets dark early. I to agree that T-ville is a good winter time lake. With the water temps in the 40's it seems like the LM school up more, if you catch 1 more than likely there will be more on that spot. I've never thought about using the FNF down there but, now that you mention it, I can think of a few spots where I caught suspended fish last winter that the FNF could be very affective.
