Thumbs up River levels and forcast links

For those of you who may be interested, here are some links that were pointed out to me about current river levels on the Ohio and their projected rise and crest times. I'll post Newburgh, Cannelton, and McAlpine dams, but all you have to do is click the "upstream/downstream" tabs under the map to find the stretch of water you are looking for.

    NewBurgh Dam:

    Cannelton Dam:
    http://www.crh.noaa.gov/ahps2/hydrograph.php?wfo=lmk&gage=cnni3&view=1,1,1,1,1,1 &toggles=10,7,8,2,9,15,6&type=0

    McAlpine Dam:

I know the links are long, but there is a wealth of info on those pages.

I like this one for the fossil beds and up from the lower end of the McAlpine Locks.

Cheaper than driving 15 minutes to find it jacked up.

That's the link I use Rudy. It's great but it leaves something out of the picture? I mean, I go out there when the chart looks good to find all kinds of various conditions. Some guys that have been fishing the river longer than me know how to compare the different gauges and interpret how they influence each other. Also, many will listen the corp tellephone message and maybe get some better info from that.

5 is your limit? I thought it was 10- that must be a KY thing. Thanks Bassman.

A lot of the big rivers are starting fill up. Should see the Ohio on the raise for a while. The Ky River is coming up and will probably also maintain a high level for several days as well.
It's also going to be interesting to see how the lake level at Cumberland will be maintained.

Wolf Creek Dam will have one sluice gate open all day, instead of just twice a day for a hour. I don't know how much water that thing lets loose but with all the rain, I bet it's a bunch!

1 sluice gate runs at about 1500............I think.........that is what they have been running on and off all summer.........

That should make the ramp at wolf creek more useable, and the walleye should be a biting............COOL.........might take the big boat down there.

I'm wrong.........here is what they are running............3240, which is about DOUBLE what it was when I was there a month ago.........

STILL, this is GREAT, and definitely fishable.........

BTW, here is a link that I use.

Yeah, when I went there last friday i think the river was at 19ft but they had every gate open and the current was terrible. Do you know the number for the corp telephone message at cannelton dam? I didn't know they had such a service.
