It's good to see someone doing this, and I hope you get some help. Meldahl's a pretty fur piece from Louisville, plus I'm working that weekend, or I'd join you.
Nice to see you posting here, Jeff. I've read a lot of your posts on the striper site.

Do you know why there is no fishing from the wall at Meldah dam? i have fished the shore near the dam and all I catch is snags. It almost gets to the point when I am able to retrieve my sinker to the bank I am happy.
Thanks RT, I don't get on this board as much as I could.
Wags, I think they just want to protect us from ourselves. No rail, just 30 feet into the river, or into the jagged concrete below, liability, liability, liability.
As for snags, I see a lot of sauger come out of that back eddy, as well as white bass and an occasional wiper and cat.
The best fishing is across the face of the dam, and downstream some along the rocks, big cats, big wipers and big stripers. Nice walleyes and smallies too. I've snagged a nice paddlefish from there too, 23.5#.
I wouldn't give up on it. This time of year probably tough, but I bet the saugers are still there once this water goes down some.
If you can get out Jan 5th, come on down, it'll be great to meet you, maybe catch some sauger or skips for next years catfishing!

Just a reminder, we're still doing the clean up this Sat. 1/5 10AM at Meldahl dam Ky parking lot, weather should be warmer than mid week.
Thanks for your help in advance!
