Went down to Herrington today. It is common knowledge that Herrington and I don't get along unless the sun has set but I wanted to go fishing and it was the closest option.
Launched at Chimney Rock. Fished from Pandora to the dam. Fished a number of crank baits and shakey head choices between noon and 4:30. Only one hit with no catch.
The water is HIGH. Vis was about 4 or 5 feet for a rootbeer bandit. Water temp was 45 at Pandora to 50 at the runoff near the dam. There were 4 inch shad everywhere near the dam.
I only saw 2 other fishing boats. Hope they had more luck that me.
Someday I am going to learn how to catch fish on that lake when the sun is shining.

thanks for the info bereabasser.
is it dangerous running th river?![]()
Anywhere from the blue bridge going into Danville (route 32 I think) up to the dam. Just depends on the trash, water level, where I put in, and my mood.
I have never fished up the river. I have always been too fond of my lower unit and hull to venture up there.![]()
