It is pretty useful for finding some basic underwater structure (points, rockpiles, and some other stuff) as well as general Navigation. It is a tremendous help in aiding to stay in primary and secondary channels on Ky and especially Barkley. Just like KyNitro was saying, pairing it up with a good map is crucial. It is not going to show as much detail as a quality map will, but using them together is great. I look for spots on the map, and then mark them on the GPS. Dave Stewart suggested I buy the Atlantic Mapping Company maps of the lakes here, and they have been some of the best I have found. Those along with the Navionics Chip are awesome. I bought my 07 Navionics chip when it first came out and spent a little over $150 - I would encourage anyone to buy it that price - but $99 is a bargain, so I would jump on that.
