DIX Creek fishable? Below Herrington..

I've fished for trout immediately below the Herrington dam on Dix Creek in the summer when no water is being released. Can it be fished now? I normally rope my Jon-boat up through "the chute" near the overflow/emergency spillway. Is there a telephone generation number or E-address for info... and how would I interpret the info?

No idea about how to get that info but you reminded me of how we roped our Jon Boat up through that chute with no problem but coming back through was a different story. We got sideways and the water almost sucked the boat under against the rocks it was fun and an adventure for sure.

The water below Dix Dam is still Dix River, not Dix Creek. The river is green/clear in color. KU is letting out a lot of water at this time so it is swift in the narrows up at the spillway.
