Feeling your pain, we are supposed to go down Wed - Saturday. I am 99% sure we are still going to go, dont know if we will get to fish any Wednesday but Thur, Fri and Saturday look like good days.

Trying to make a final decision on whether to go to KY Lake and bass fish this week Thursday and Friday. With all the decent reports seems like we should but with the high water and more rain on the way I was wondering if it would be better just to hold off. Probably going to make it there the week of April 7th, but its driving me nuts.
Anybody have an opinion?

If you want numbers, wait until april and things stabilize. If you want a shot at a toad, come now. The 6-9lbers are up right now and people are picking them off left and right.
The forcast for thurs/fri look good. There are alot of fish up shallow on Ky. I fished ther tue, wed and sun. had my best day on sun but caught fish everyday i was able to go. the lake temps are coming up. the fish are a lil scattered but they are there to catch......Good Luck
so far we havn't gotten all the rain that they were forecasting. most of it went to the North of us...... Just the latest
I'm in the same boat.........still wondering........supposed to leave Thursday Morning, but not too sure now......I'm REALLY concerned about the flooding, and would HATE to make the trip to KY lake to a NON-FISHABLE condition.
I still think we're good, but who knows.........Still 6 inches or so predicted for KY lake area.........
ANYONE over there have any ideas.......and can you guys continue to post conditions.

I'm in nearly the same boat. I've got plans to come down middle of next week but need to fish Barkley lake mostly and stay at the State Park. I'd be interested in getting a water clarity update after this big rain passes.
I live up Cincinnati way and it is raining here like crazy. Likely the Ohio River swell will keep the damns from discharging much for at least 5-8 day while the Ohio drains.
Geo, so far we havent gotten enough rain to amount to much. They are calling for it to move into the area tonight. They are not forcasting as much for us as the are southern Illinios. I will keep track of the weather and post on here if much changes. With Ky lake being an older lake it doesnt muddy up as bad as Barkley. The Lake temps have climbed into the lower 50's and should keep climbing. The higher water has the fish scattered but they are catchable. I even caught a 4lb LM Sunday in 2 ft of water next to flooded buckbrush on the main lake.I'm in the same boat.........still wondering........supposed to leave Thursday Morning, but not too sure now......I'm REALLY concerned about the flooding, and would HATE to make the trip to KY lake to a NON-FISHABLE condition.

I wouldn't change my plans if it were me. The weather is going to be pretty after tomorrow......Good Luck
Man...........THANKS for the update.............Now, I'm worried about the wind..........with 15-20 on Friday, I'm going to be locked into the bays.........
What do you guys think about that........

I wouldn't worry about being in the bays. It seems that a good amount of the better fish lately have been coming from the bays. I won a tourney on sunday, caught almost everything in the bays - it was about the only place out of the wind too. The fish are scattered all around, so there isn't any one pattern that is loading the boat now. I just drove over the lake, and looks like it has seen better conditions. I hope most of the forecasted rain avoids us, but I think we will get a dose of it - actually it is coming down now, but in spurts.
There is still no other place in Kentucky I would rather be.
Like Col said i wouldnt worry about the bays. There are alot of big fish being caught in the bays. I fished alot of main lake cuts outta the wind Sunday and caught alot of fish. I'm goin to try flipping friday if the water isn't dropping to fast......
Thanks so much for the updates, we are gonna head out at 5am and make the trip, Wednesday may be wet but thur through saturday looks really nice.
First trip out this year and I need it in a bad way.
