    Fish Finder

I need some help on a fish finder. I have about $500 to $600 to spend and was thinking I'd like to have one with GPS mapping built in. Do you guys have any suggestions on ones you have used and liked?

I'd say the Lowrance LMS-520 or something similar in that price range would be your best bet. I'm not sure on the built in mapping, i'd say any unit in that price range is going to have limited built in maps, but you can buy the Lowrance cards, or the Navionics cards and be set.

Lowrance 520 is hard to beat it that price range - try tigergps.com - I think there is a direct link on the fishin.com homepage. They have great prices for new products. Every once in a while, you can find a good one used, when someone upgrades. The 520 has good sonar and gps. Much better than the others in that price range.

Check this place out. Do a search for Lowrance or Eagle.

I am using the 520c...you will like it...add a navionics premium map card and you will like it more.

    Re: Fish Finder

First you guys are awesome. Thanks for the advice. Now does anyone know a good place to get it installed in Louisville? Also, I was debating putting it on the front deck or near the console. My boat is only 14 ft. so I can see it pretty well up front, but wanted to see if anyone had some experience with it.

Thanks again for all the help!

I would mount it on a ram mount on the console, so you could turn it around and view from the front also. Installation is not hard and the lowrance manual will walk you through pretty good.
