I guess it's changed because I did it several times in the past with a 150hp. We even asked the Game Warden of course it's been 7 or 8 years ago but I have seen others do it since then...even last year.

Well they answered the question about HP max @ 10hp on the call in show. However they said you can not use any engine over 10 hp to load or unload. Game Warden said you need to lower your trailor farther in the water. Easier said then done with out a motor. I thought you could use yor motor to unload or to load. Oh well.

If it's over 10HP don't even start it without risk of a ticket. Elmer Davis for one example.
i was there last year and owner of marina said it was ok to start motor to load and unload boat.
I would ask an officer the next time I see one while fishing that lake because the nice guy's at the dock might have an opinion but they ain't the law.![]()
Every time I've been to Beaver we have have used the big motor to load. Nobody has ever said a word.
Getting my Deep V off the trailer is no problem, rope and plenty of slack. But now I am supposed to get a running start with my almost dead trolling motor batteries for I have trolled all day long, center my boat, then at the last second YANK it up to get up on the trailer as far as possible, grap the rope, jump into the water and finish pulling it up the trailer all the while hoping to not bust another hernia. These MORANS are pathetic. It is ok to get swamped by a 9.9HP on a pontoon but now we can't even load the boat onto the trailer. Plenty of water, Dale-Cumberland-Barren-CC-Twin Lakes etc, that will let me launch and re-load my boat with my proper loading equipment. I am sure these lakes sure do like my money filtering into their economy for Lawrenceburg and Beaver Lake will get none of it. I said it in the other post, it is not Beaver Lake, it is LOCALS LAKE. I hope all the locals enjoy it, for they will not have to worry about swamping me.
This is exactly why I quit going to Elmer Davis lake. The locals and campsite people run the show at these little lakes. Don't get on these peoples wrong side either you'll have four flat tires. Let these guys have their little piss ant lakes it ain't worth rolling in the grass with somebody over it.
I went to Beaver Friday and the guy I paid to launch said
that idle speed is ok with any size motor.
So I idled my 20 hp everywhere.
So did everyone else with much bigger motors than me.
As long as he says I can, I will.
But I suspect that will change when a game warden
informs him diferently.![]()
Man what a difference of opinions huh? Just remember ignorance of the law does not excuse breaking the law. I don't know the law but your right on target to ask the next time you see the game warden.I went to Beaver Friday and the guy I paid to launch said

You can not idle with any thing above a 10 hp. They will ticket you. Ask the guy that you paid the launch fee to if he will pay your fine? But loading and un-loading is ridiculos.
Well i always idle around when its dead winter there--When im there no one else is on the lake no one has ever called on me--but then again they may have--warden or whoever said heck im not coming all the way down there for one guy lol lmao![]()
