    Talking Does a Pond count???

It may not really count but man it was fun. I caught and released 24 bass yesterday afternoon. Of that bunch 18 were keeper sized fish with my kicker being a solid 5lber. Had three others in the 3 range and one better than three. Most of the others 14 to 17 inch fish. Two of the under sized fish were on a jerkbait. Everything else came on a rattlin rap and a spinnerbait. Spinnerbug caught the five pounder. It was fun to jack some jaws, I needed a rod bending fix.

It counts in my opinion...I've been wanting to hit the old farm pond myself, and since finding out last night that my old black lab is going to live a little longer despite the cancerous thing he has under his eye, I think he and I will celebrate by me hauling his lethargic rear end to the farm pond one day this week or weekend.

Nothing like a good dog, I'm glad he's gonna be alright. I wish they lived forever.

    Mark,
Heck yeah a pond counts! So much so I would have to go again in the near future just to see if those bass still like my baits.

    Chub,
Black Labs...best dog around in my book. I lost my first one (Ben) to Liver failure seveal years ago and now (Maxx) is almost 3 years old and awesome. He goes to work with me everyday (stays in my office) and I take him fishing when it's not too hot. Had him out Sunday swimming in the laake and he loved it.

Bill Dance....hahahaha...I was right there. Mark I'm glad you got and jacked a few. Everyone should have one of these spots where you can stick a bunch.

Bill Dance pond....the only thing that you forgot was his pond plus his scuba divers that are taking fish that were previously shocked up and tied to the stumps and they are hooking them to his line.

Yea I felt like ole Bill there last night, no skin left on my left thumb, lol. I wish I would have had my scales with me I really think that one was well over five it had a huge head and body structure and about 21 inches or so. Man I love when they are just loading that rod up like that. Oh and get this, the ole catch one on the first cast didn't even mess me up. I tried loosing that fish when he hit but she had hooks all over her face. I hate catching one on the first cast.

Is that river fishable now Chuck, I'm surprised. Yea the fish Gods smiled on me last night, because this is usually a tough pond that only gives up two or three a trip. I caught fish out of two ponds but did most of the numbers out of the usually tougher pond. South, southwest wind howling went to the shallow end and cast no-lip cranks and wood chopper spinnerbaits and hang on. yeeehaaa. Good practice catchin them ole slickheads to get me primed to tear into them brown ones here over the next several weeks, lol.
