    Barren River Report

Fished Barren today, 1st time on this lake in over a year. With Lake levels high every where else, I thought this would be the best place to go.
AM Water temps at dam area 49*
AM Water temps around Walnut Creek 51*
Water muddy around State Park but slightly stained everywhere else.
PM Water Temps around Walnut Creek 53*
PM Water Temps up Skaggs Creek 54*
PM Water Temps at Dam area 51*

With front comming through and water temps, I thought I would have a good day. Only managed one fish approximately 14" all day.
Fished CR, CB, and Jig, thought they would turn on at any time, but did not for me.
I talked to 3 different boaters around the lake and all reported they were having the same success as I was. I talked to 2 others when I was taking out and they also reported only catching 1 or 2 short fish.
Should have been a better day with conditions, water temps, and visibality. Just one of those days.

It seems like it's been hit and miss the last several days, from what I've heard.

OUCH!!! Thanks for the post. Hens and I will be fishing there this weekend in hopes of winning a small tourney on Sunday. Sounds like it should only take a few good bites to do fairly decent. But as they all say, somewhere somehow somebody is catching fish on the lake. Thanks again for the info.

Well that might be a good thing. Not that you had a rough day but maybe the fish will be really hungry this weekend, esspecially Saturday when the Kids KBF tournament is going on. :-)
