I posted the words to the Keith Warren Outdoor show lead in song a few weeks back and now my 4 year old son is singing it occapella(sp) without any help from the tv. He walks around the house singing it for no reason at all. My wife recorded it to her cell phone than sent it to mine and I am trying to figure out a way to set my ring tone to his singing. He is not being brainwashed by no means by me. I am off to Barren this weekend, back Sunday night and leaving EARLY Tuesday morning for North Barkley for 4 days then a week from tomorrow we are off to my Dad's pond to let Joshua catch his first one. Hopefully, it will be the same 4+ pounder that he hooked last October but broke him off using my Dad's rods and reels with line 20 years old. This time we will be taking my equipment and his new rod with fresh line for the combat.
The words to the song are:
I got my boat hooked up to my pickup truck, it's time to make my break
My rods and reels are loaded up and I'm tieing on my favorite bait,
I'll be reeling them in all day long, if their biting good I ain't coming home,
That's the place to be, I love fishin and fishin loves me.
My coolers packed my drinks iced down, and I'm ready to cast my line,
I can't wait to set my hook on a 7, 8 or 9
I've been catchin fish all day long, since their bitin good I ain't going home,
This is the place to be, I love fishin and fishin loves me.
Pretty good for a 4 year old to learn all this in less than 2 weeks. He keeps saying Dad play the fishing song and I look it up on the DVR to play it. He dances and jumps around while he is singing it and flinging his new rod and reel around. Very nice to see this and I just hope he loves fishin as much as I do for we will spend a lot of time together on the water, I ASSURE YOU..

That's too cool! I have raised my daughter in fishing, camping and hiking and she is 11 years old now. I'm extremely happy that I did not waste my time with her youth because they do grow up so quick. Great job man!!
Great job Elwood, yes they do grow up way to quick. My oldest son just turned 14 today, seems like just yesterday he was playing outside on the deck. He wanted to keep playing so hard and long, he pee'd in his pants, cause he didn't want to stop having so much fun playing in the sand box. I guess I can see where he got that idea from, heck if I could I'd never quit fishing, but I got to pee sometime as well.....![]()
