I haven't been down in a couple of weeks, but I have heard they are catching a lot of largemouth and Ky's up in the river end on jigs. Water is around 50 to 52 degrees. Hope this helps. Check out smalljaw.com and see what they have to say on there.
fish are still in transition. You really have to run and gun to catch numbers....it's changing day to day.
I'd say you'll be able to catch them pretty good shallow in a week or so.
Last weekend everything was hit and miss. Catching them on a variety of techniques: Cranks, Jerks, Jig is all but dead caught mine swimming it...FNF was really hot early, tail spinners, silver buddy. Fish are 20-30'
Green fish are crushing the jig, most browns are looking up.
Bryan....my boat is in the shop.....take me fish'n bro!

4 ft below summer pool, color to nearly clear, 52 by state dock,
friday, 2 different people, fishing live bait killed the smallmouth, busy the whole time they were out, lots of fish............one of them caught there fish on a flat by deep water, with in sight of the lodge.
I dont think beat-in the bank will produce just yet..........
Which lodge? sulfur creek or the state park?
Went to DH last Friday evening, got back yesterday. Fished lower end, water temps 52-53. Fish scattered--no real pattern but they are biting. Caught many 3-4lb'ers, one 4.3 and one 5.2 that was almost 22 inches. Biggest fish came 1 foot off the bank.
If it's just you and another person, you could stay at the Riverfront Motel in Burkesville and put in at Hendricks. Sulfur would be about the same.
I like to be able to pull off the water and eat either in Celina or Burkesville. I like to have the option of putting in mid-lake or lower end near the dam.
Good Luck,
Mark
Thanks for all the help guys. i'm leavin tonight so wish me luck!!!!![]()
Hey Mark, I'm off next week and I'm in the crappie mode. I'm taking the old man to Weiss next week for 3 days and then fishing on Nolin at his cabin the rest of the week. I've also got my daughters soccer games almost every weekend until June. I took my camper to Dale this morning and there about 10 boats fishing out of the state dock. It sure was windy though, but it was tough not to get on the water. We'll get together soon though. Bryan
Bryan,
Weiss....I feel ya for sure on the crappie mode. I'm headed to the KY next week and we'll probably chase 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bass fish early and late....you know we got fill up the live well with some of that. Enjoy your Q-time with pops and the Fam...talk with you soon.
Mark
