    What causes this?

Fished a couple of hours yesterday, zippo!!!. When I went to the lee side, the wind switched, and no matter where I tried, it was gusting tillI finally said to heck with it. But I noticed something odd, the water was clear in some parts of the feeder creeks, and deep red in other parts,I mean you could actually see the break lines, and it was wind driven.I also noted a 3 degree temp rise in four hours of casting, mostly in the stained water. I ran into something like this last summer in beaver creek, but it looked like an oil slick, this wasn't oil.

It's turning over and that's tanic acid staining. I was in a couple of creeks on Cumb. yesterday that were turning over. Ugly water.

Saw this yesterday on some main lake cuts and in Otter Creek as well. Nasty looking stuff.

I saw the same kind of water up in Wolf Creek during our Club Bass Tournament on the 5th of March at Dale Hollow. Your right plain ugly and along with the film on top of the water there was debris everywhere and almost hardly impossible to fish any type of lure in the area. Due to always getting the lure fouled in some sort of manner. Plain Nasty.......
