I live in louisville and was wanting to drive to Shelbyville to try my hand. Which lake is better suited for bank fisherman? Any advice/info is greatly appreciated.
I would say Taylorsville.
The only place on Guist I know of to bank fish is at the bridge and it's usually pretty crowded there.
I am in louisville also, and thanks to some REALLY nice guys here, I am going to be looking to take my 4 kids out to those areas too. Please let us know how/where you end up and do, plus if you would take kids there. Appreciate any feedback you get from you trip and wish you the best of luck my friend. If you ever need company on one of the local trips give me a yell and maybe we can give'er a cast togetherTake care.

I don't think either one of those lakes have many good places
to bank fish.
If you want to bank fish close to Louisville, especially w/ kids,
I'd suggest Jericho Lake, off I-71 @ Sligo exit.
(about 40 miles)
Lots of good access and facilities.![]()
Decent fishing both above and below the dam at T-ville, as well as Possum Ridge and Van Buren boat ramps.
You can catch some good crappie around the boat docks at possum ridge on T-ville.
