What are they catching bass on.![]()
Fished last two weekends with a big fat zero. We had a club tourney sat. and 1 keeper was caught, and only one other fish was caught. There was another good size tourney going on and I talked to a bunch of those people and they were not even getting any bites. The two fish were caught on a firetiger crankbait. Water was very stained and the temp was 48-49 with51 being the warmest. Good luck on trying to get any info on this lake. People are tightlipped about it. Good luck when you go, with all this rain predicted it will probably be a mess.
The big Yatesville has been tough so far for my partner and I as well. I would like to catch even a small one at this point. So we are always looking for someone to help us out.
We are going to run out and fish it this weekend. Has anyone been out this week in the monsoons we have had?
I would love to see the guys up here help each other out like they do at the other end of the state.
The guys in WKY have wonderful guys like Dave Stewart to keep them posted on the conditions and what is going on with the fish in the lake down there.
I think that our problem is that we are all fishing for the same six fish... HA HA

fished yatesville saturday morning in a small club tourney. had 3 fish with no keepers. trolling motor quit on me at 12:30 so i did not get to finish the tourney. its the same trolling motor that was just repaired last week at the shopneedless to say i was not very happy.
however, first fish was on a jig in about 15 foot of water. this was caught fairly early. the next two were on a spinnerbait about 5 minutes apart. they were caught about 10 minutes before the trolling motor quit just as the water had started warming from the sun. who knows what would have happened had we got to finish the tourney. dont know what won because we left early.
Lake extremely muddy and a couple feet above summer pool. water temps anywhere from 52-55.
Thanks Big Wormy!!
My partner and I are going to run out tonight so I will post tomorrow either way good or bad.
On Saturday we had three fish to the boat. Two on a crankbait and 1 on a rattle trap but none of them landed. It has taken us a while to get the rust off after this long winter.
I will post tomorrow...

im sure you got some in the boat yesterday if you went. let us know!
Well we went last night and finally put some fish in the boat.
Four Short fish in about 2 hours. 3 on Rattle Traps and 1 on a spinnerbait(KVD Style-trolling motor on high and petal to the metal).
We talked with one of the guys from Yatesville Marine at the ramp and he said people were slaying the bass. He said it took 19lbs to win on Sunday and 14 on Saturday. Well we couldn't find them.
I am thankful to finally get that smell back on my hands.
Any light that anyone could shed about this lake it would be appreciative. Pattern to fish??? etc...
Always remeber that joy doesn't depend on your circumstances.

Find your clean water to slightly stained. Watch you finder and search for the shad. Follow the shad. fish should be hanging around main points to the secondary points. If you find the water warming as you head back in the creeks, follow it. Spinnerbaits, 2 depths of crank baits, jerkbait, jig/shakyhead.
Locate with you search baits and then slow down. Fish the channel sides and check the breaks for your fish.
Good Luck!

Thanks Skeeter...
We will try that this weekend at our tourney and I will post after that.
What do you do if the water looks like Choc. Milk?
Thanks again Skeeter...
God Bless

big spinnerbaits. double colorodo blades. bright cranks, firetiger
, parrot, red. Black/black-blue plastics with plenty of scent.
keep searching for the clean water. also if you find a place that has a mud line where it transistions from stained to clear, work that area good.
Let me know if this helps you out.
