Anyone happen to drive over and take a look at Green today? We are thinking about heading over on Saturday to try and find a crappie. We didn't want to drive over if the lake was chocolate colored. Thanks for any info...

Talked to the guy at Emerald Isle Marina on the phone a few minutes ago...he said that the lake was up and stained, of course, but that a tourney had launched out of there this morning. Watch for the floaters, and get-r-done.
The Corps shows it at 677, which is 2' above summer pool.
We're going in the AM and chucking for crappie.
We called our trip off. We just figured we could certainly find a better weekend. Good luck to you tomorrow.
We went today and launched at Emerald Isle. The water was up and still rising, real stained and muddy, but I've seen it a whole lot worse. Water was around 54 degrees in most places...our crappie fishing sucked, but it was a nice day to be out and give the boat a good workout. We talked to a couple other boats that were having similar luck.
The mid-lake debris wasn't bad, but running in the upper reaches could be hazardous to your health. There were some floaters up in Robinson Creek the size of my boat. The nice lady at the marina said that they were expecting the lake to rise a few more feet by mid-week.
My guess for bass would be pitching the flooded brush. ??
