I thought that this link might help some of the guys getting ready to fish Patoka Lake this coming weekend.

Right now the lake is at 547.3 ASL. The water flows over the spillway when it reaches 548 ft ASL. And I have a friend that drove by the **** this last Sunday and he said that the lake was just inches below the spillway's overflow.
And we are going to be getting a lot of rain the next few days according to the weatherman.
I hope this helps with your planning on how to fish the lake.
The water is up in to the lake's shore line brush. If you want to catch crappie I was told to fish the warmer water where there is some clear water. Water is still pretty cold probably.
The Bradford pear trees are in bloom now so that tells me that normally at this time of the year the IN Patoka Lake crappie are in their prespawn mode.
The high water could mess their normal prespawn activities up.
With the lake containing all this new water and the amount of water in the lake way up.. it' will take much longer to warm the lake up. But the water's in the shallows in protected bays will still be the first water to warm up.
