broke the fishing slump curse i hope...

i decided to go down to laurel and take my new fiance and my mom out on the new ranger and all they wanted to do was talk and paint their toe nails so i got up on the bow and went down this bank way up in the river and i had a jig tied on and about 2 casts in wham about a 2 lb smallie and i was like ok whats goin on here that was like the first fish i have caught in laurel in forever.. then 5 or six casts later wham bout jerked the rod out of my hands another 17 3/4 inch brown fish.. then i go thru a rock change from sandstone to lime stone chunk ah got some follows on the reel in by some trout nippin at my paca chunk but a bout fifty or so yards down the bank i caught another 16 inch green fish then another then to top it off i got a 20 inch green fish that was a male makin a bed..... then my fiance hasnt never caught a bass so let her try a shakey head and she has trouble stopping the spinning spool on her hard casts so i was fixing that and she picked up my baitcaster which is a chronarch 50 mg with 15 lb flourocarbon and a gloomis glx to top it off.... and here she goes while i am lookin away i hear zooooooooooooom shhhhhhhhh.... dang so i have another one to fix. so go get her little blue gill spinning rod i got her and she gets her little flw bag from walmarts out and i put her on a white beetle spin stand up there with her and show her how to cast it and the reel speed and about 5 casts in she catches a 12 inch ky on a utralight plueger thats 4ft long on 6lb test... the fish was ready to lay but i was happy as ever watchin her catch her first bass.... but i ended up just fishin down that bank and ended up with 8 on the day....... and i got my reels fixed up and continued to smoke em....the water temp was 67 up in the river and i was using a jig....

Talking Re: broke the fishing slump curse i hope...

Sounds like a good trip. New Ranger....Congrats! There is one thing that I will put in my 2 cents on though..... If the wife messes up the line make her fix it. If she messes it up and you fix it then there is no Learning for the wife. My wife use to do the same thing and most of the time was spent tending to her line, bait and fish. Now that She has to fix it , she is more cautious when casting. The trips are more enjoyable for both of us now.

Great news! The time you are engaged, your fiance will be willing to try alot of new things. Once you get married, everything you do will be stupid. Just kidding, well not really. So the more you can her involved with during this time, the better. I wish I would have had a longer engagement! LOL

Yep and the good thing about keeper her involved in your hobbies is you can one day say "well you knew I liked to fish before we got married." My wife loves that one

Yeah Mark - I have slowly learned I am stupid, and therefore the things I do are stupid. I have learned to use this to my advantage though. Mess up the checkbook a few times, and I no longer am allowed to mess with it. It is great. Same thing with the laundry - a few pairs of pink t-shirts and I am cut off from the laundry.
