    River otters

The otters on Stoner have become rediculous, they are everywhere you look. I believe they are effecting the bass population and so do several other people I've spoke with.
Is anyone else seeing the same issues in other areas?

An iflux in the otter population will definitely affect the fish. Not only do they feast on fish, but also love crawfish. However, I really enjoy watching them. Most I have seen seem to wear out schools of bluegill. I used to run into some on the elkhorn on occasion.

For two years straight I kept an eye on a family of seven otters at Taylorsville Lake. But haven't been out this year on T-Ville to see if their still around. They would go down a bank looking for fish and every now and then you'd see them walk up on the bank to eat their catch. Normally a small 3 to 4 inch bluegill. Even as I fished along with them, if I caught a war Mouth on my crank bait. I'd throw it up to them to eat.....

There was a report I read on otters a year or so ago and a pair of otters can clean out a 2 acre pond in less than 2 years. They are devastating on any body of water.

Just another bright idea of the state to intruduce another pain in the butt animal.
