North Barkley Alive and Well

Just got back from fishing North Barkley. Water has cleared in many spots to stained status. Summary reportl

Saturday- we fished Smith bay on KYL just after the cold front. Windy, stained to muddy and few fish.

Sunday- Barkley- found some nice fish on secondary points

Monday- Big bite day..... did not realize that the big ones started the spawn this day. Caught 50 with 10 keepers biggest was 5lbs. The females we caught were just coming up on secondary points and were very white. My neighbor had 4 fish bigger then 6lbs on Monday as he realized the big ones were back in the bays spawning; we did not catch on to the pattern until he told us.

Tuesday- About 15 keepers, not many short fish, backs of bays. Definite females with avg. weight about 3lbs.

Today- In 3 hours, 25 fish, about 10 keepers. Caught one sight fishing in about 12 inches of water on a plastic. Could barely make out the bed but water has cleared a great deal.
