Exclamation Where to go - Rough River or Nolin Lake???

Going to either Rough or Nolin this weekend, Nolin is almost right at summer pool and Rough appears to still be about 12 feet above summer pool. Any advice on which of the two I will have my best luck? My 2 daughters and wife are coming along so they will be using worms and minnows. My gut tells me Nolin.

Did you type your post on in Word (or something else) and then copy and paste it to this site--that is generally what happens when i have done that.

Anyhow, to answer your question I would say you will have better luck fishing at Nolin. My recollection of posts for the last few weeks has been that fihsing at Rough has been very poor. Of course, those have been about Bass fishin mostly, so it may not hold true but I still think that Nolin would be the better choice. Just my opinion,

Yes, I did type it in Word and pasted it in... I'm a newbie. I'll just type it in next time.

That is the same feeling I got when I read the posts from the past 30 days. Thanks for the information.

Fished Nolin today. Although not fishin for bass, we caught several, 20 or so. Had a couple about 3 lbs. Rest were 12 to 14 inchers. Caught them on minners, nightcrawlers, Shad raps and curly tail grubs. We were fishin for crappie and walleye.
The crappie were bitin good. Caught about 20 brought home 10. Only caught 1 walleye but it was a nice 18 incher caught on Shad Rap. Lady at Day's Pro Bass (I think) said Amish were tearin up the walleye on jig and nightcrawler combos. We didn't have any luck.
Crappie were caught at 4-5 ft near brush on jigs and minners.

Good luck.
