Lake Barkley Fishing

We fished Lake Barkley near Eddy Creek Marina last week. We had beautiful weather and caught about 25 crappie. The water was clear and we also caught a TON of really good blue gill.

Where did you stay and are there no photos or are they on your web page?

We need more info did you catch them on live bait or artifical etc etc

I have a few pictures on my website. We stayed at Eddybay Lodging. Great place to stay and they have a covered boat dock. Crappie were caught on minnows and bluegill on wax worms. I also caught a few cat fish on wax worms.

Where the bluegill concentrated? Like they were on the beds?

A lot of bluegills were heavily concentrated in 5 ft of water near the rocks. Suggest fishing bridges and mostly rocky areas. Females were full of eggs. Smaller bluegills were closer to the rocks and larger about 10 ft from the rocky shoreline. Don't overlook brush piles or fallen trees along shorelines for crappie. Some crappie were still being caught in 23ft of water vertical fishing with jigs tip with a minnow.
