    stoner creek

Fished Stoner out of Fryman's twice in the past week...the bite is starting to pick up. Water clarity is improving with temps ranging from 63-69 degrees. The fish haven't committed to spawning yet; i think the weather this spring had them confused until recently. caught a couple bigmouths in the shallows, but the majority of bites came in 6-8'.
Had good luck fishing minnowed colored shad raps and crawfish colored bomber crankbaits.

fishing pressure here is definately on the rise...lots of boats out there last weekend. word is they are going to post idle speed only signs around the campground up past the second rock wall....thank goodness. almost got knocked off my pondhopper twice by less-than-courteous fellow fishermen in too big of hurry to slow it down while passing.

    good luck & happy fishin.

Yeah there was an article in a fishing magazine about this creek. The pressure is there but it will subside once people realize that it's a pain in the rear to fish in a line. Are you one of the ex Pond Hopper tourny guy's?

I agree with the idle speed...not big enough through there, especially in traffic...

I'd say the Magazine Article has brought out some folks for sure. I've had three different people call me, who know that I fish over there, who have never been and want me to take them - Because they read that article.

We have the best bunch of guys fishing and noone expects to get rich by fishing this trail. If you want more info send me a fax number and I can fax you some info we would love to have you.
The article was in the Kentucky Fish and Game April 2008.

Unforuately that article as well written and informative as it was will really cause some over kill on boat traffic. Someone could get hurt. I've personally witnessed a boat wreck there.

Be careful when you're there on the water.
