The only thing I've noticed is one of our miniature dachshunds digging up the back yard so much that she has lost weight by doing it. I'm guessing it's the Cicadas that she's after.

I haven't seen any but this year is supposed to be another big cicada cycle season. Not as big as we had beck in '04 (?) but bigger than normal.

I guess that is why our dogs have come in with a face full of mud the past week or so. I didn't know what they were after.

    Re: Cicadas(jar flies)

I'm seeing quite a few of them here in Morgan Co. This is the 17 year version so if it matches what we had in 91 it will be huge. Fish are gonna have a feast here pretty soon. The last time they were here I remember taking a tiny torpedo and catching every fish that was able to bite. Pretty awesome. The bad part was that shortly thereafter it got pretty tough to catch those gorged fish for some reason????

i've lived at this place for three years and every year i've see a few skins hanging on the trees and fence post, but this year they're on everything. me and the wife walked around for an hour smashing bugs.
talking about the tiny torpedo, i might have to dig out my old jitterbug, but around here i just lose it to a muskie..

I am by the General State Park on Cumberland and we got them crawling around here. Dogs have the brown noses as well, the one dog eats spiders, moths and any thing that moves so he is loving it right now. A big juicy spider is like crack cocaine for him.
