College/University Fishing Clubs

Greetings. I work in the University of Southern Indiana's Purchasing Department. One of our students initiated the idea of a University fishing club with our VP of Student Affairs who referred the student to me because of my interest in Bass fishing. As I understand it, they would look to me to serve as an advisor to help get the club going and oversee the activities of the club. I realize some of you have been involved to some extent in this type of club. Would you provide some feedback regarding exactly what is involved in serving as an advisor and the time required? Thanks.

I have not been involved in the college format but having been involved in clubs and opens for many years once you have the set up done at the start of the year it is just maintenence after that, not to bad. FYI, if you go to the FLW home page they have just announced a college tournament series format that I am sure you will be able to find some guidence and information from. Best of luck with your team
