Friday night. Put in at the dam with whitecaps from that N by NE wind that seemed to change every time we moved. Would have expected more shad to be up and only heard 2 striper blow-ups all night. Put 2 stripers in the boat, broke one off as I was lifting it over the bow and another on a Long Distance Release. Fish would only take topwater, eventhough we tried everything else. Nagging N by NE wind may hamper things again tonite.

I did not go and buddy has yet to report. I expect tonite to be better, as the wind will be more out of the south and with some cloud cover, along with warmer temps should aid in improving the bite.
Let me know what you find out. I went last week and never caught a single striper, did catch a few walleye though. I would rather catch my limit of them anyway if the would cooperate.
What time did the shad come up on friday? I was out last weekend and they didnt show up til 3:30.
Alewifes up around 1AM (eastern). Got one good one (12#), two shorts and three walleye. Best of those was 24 inch. The keeper and the biggest walleye on a jointed surface bait, the rest on a sliver.
Andrew
Are they still on the main lake?
Pretty much yes.
Thanks for all the 411, much appreciatted.
Sun night not much better. One striper close to keeper size and 2 nice walleye. All one top. Some banks had shad and some of our favorite banks held none. Very few stripers blow-ups heard.
Glad to hear it wasnt just me. Boated 2 walleye, never seen a stripe last nights. Bait fish seemed to be up a little earlier than last week though.
Andrew and Creek, my Sunday night didn't go much better. I had one short and missed a few walleye bites. Caught some more bass right after daylight, had one nice smallmouth and three Ky's one was a nice one. Lots of blowups on my spook at daylight from brown fish that just weren't getting the hooks. Very few blowups heard from Stripes and few from the walleye as well, Sunday night was slow. I did talk to two guys taking out when I put in that said they had decent nights but it was much earlier in the 10.30 to 1.00 range. I didn't get started until almost 3.00a.m. I overslept, lol. I tried to call Andrew on his cell about 4 or 5 but he didn't answer I was gonna ask you guys if you had a few tied up you could put a brother on, lol.
Went last night 1 very very small striper..............and one decent walleye........heard alot of shad action and a few fish blowups but no luck at all.........
