    Daughter's first day...

The day has finally come! My daughter turned 3 this weekend and I was finally able to give her the rod / reel and tackle box that I had been sitting on for what seemed like forever!

Today the whole family headed to Long Run park in Louisville. We were able to fish for about an hour until my daughter said she was ready to go. Nobody caught a single fish. I was at least hoping that my daughter could see one, if not catch it herself.

On our way out of the park, after playing at the playground and eating lunch, she asked from the backseat if we could go fishing again! I'd like to think that she'll want to go back to the park for the fishing and not the playground! We'll see...

The highlight of the day to me was hearing "Daddy, thank you for taking us fishing".

Thanks to all who have offered advice and to Jeff and Eddie at Fishing 4 Kids.

    Talking Re: Daughter's first day...

Sounds like the Daughter made your heart melt with joy. Nothing like it in the world.
I took my son out yesterday. Flooded the engine so I started fishing. First fish about 3 pounds. I set the hook and hand over the pole to my son. He enjoyed reeling it in. Then we went for a boat ride. Stopped for a snack time ( I fished) caught another and let him reel in that one as well. Back to boat riding, "Go full blast Daddy"! Running 65 with tears coming from his eyes from the wind and spit drooling out of his mouth from the wind he looks at me and just smiles. He had a blast and liked the way his hair was sticking up from the boat riding.
When the kids are having fun, That's all that matters.
