Cumberland Striper Report, thanks for help

Went Thursday night 29th, fished Jamestown area, started after midnight and quit about 5am, bit fairly well from 1-3, ended up with 6 stripers and several blow-ups, my daughter finally got to feel one tugging on her line, a nice 13-14 pounder. All were caught on jointed redfin in smokey joe color, tried deep rogue with no bites. THANKS to all those who responded to my post for help on these critters. Let me know if I can return the favor sometimes and I will try.
    Thanks again guys,
    Tim

We found them in the mouths of the creeks and mouth of coves also. Good luck and let us know how you do.

Friday night, found Alewifes on the bank, but scattered and not in good numbers. A few walleye hits. Never heard the first striper. Saturday night, found a bank with Alewifes on it and was hearing some stripers. Got one short and a walleye before the storm blew me off the lake.

    Andrew,

I looked when I got home and noticed that instead of my usual High Karate, the wife slipped in some new "Striper-B-Gone" aftershave. I'm not a seasoned Striper angler, but that's probably a bad thing aint it?

Ah well...had a great time and learned a ton, which is more valuable in the long run than nailing a big stripe. (Just not quite as loud and viscous. lol) Thanks for the tour. I would have been back Saturday night if not for my travels.

PS. I lost 37 pounds climbing that mother-lovin hill at Jamestown to get the truck. A couple more trips and the fat boy here might hit his ideal weight. I was like Rocky at the top of the stairs in Philly when I made it to the truck.

    PPS. Frickin Walleye.

Bassmaster... Here's my results from Cumberland .. Got to the lake around mid-night Sat. put at state ramp (pumpkin creek) my 5th cast was within sight of the ramp landed a 5lb. walleye on sliver.Working my way to the state dock I picked up 3 stripers but all just shy of 24''. Got bait at the marina lights and started to pull live bait at sunrise from the mouth of Lilly to jamestown picked 2 stripers but those too were just short of keeper size(where have the big ones gone?) Sunday night the bait did not come up until 1:30 -2am but when they did there was blow ups going off every where first fish came off the sliver 9lb striper then switched to the redfin with all the surface action , and boat 5 nice walleye all between 5 1/2 - 6 1/2 lbs. landed 2 more short stripers and by 4am it was all over. All my fish Sunday night were caught within sight of the ramp... needless to say I had good night (for me anyway) and saved alot $ on boat gas which is always a plus .. Todd

Went out of Jamestown on Friday of Memorial weekend and caught two stripers on slivers at about 3:30 a.m. ET. Thinking of going back this weekend. RTodd, I'm wondering if you fished the redfins on top or sub-surface? Has anyone had any luck night fishing on top or is it strictly subsurface (2-6 ft. down)? Thanks in advance for any input.

All of mine have been on top. Tried subsurface, but nothing hitting. Partner got a couple shorts and walleye on a sliver over memorial weekend.

Planer boards, live bait (Alewifes) over the main lake starting at first light.
