Hello. I'm new

Hello all. I am new here and to fishing. I went fishing for the first time last week. I went to johnson county park and didn't have any luck except with some slime. then I went down to brown county and I caught one little fish. Which I killed. :-( I was trying to get the hook out and it was bleeding out of its gills. I put it in the water and it flipped over and died. So far I haven't had any luck with fishing. I enjoy it so far, but I'm not very good. I want to go up to eagle creek sometime and maybe a few others. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.
