thinkin' of trading bass boat 4 pontoon?????

I am thinking of trading my 18' aluminum bass boat for 19'-21' pontoon in order to take my girlfriends boys as well as my neices and nephews more often. I realize that i can anchor up and fish for panfish and catfish but was wondering if i could still bass fish out of a pontoon with a trolling motor. ANY help would be appreciated! Thanks, Shaner

I had a long shaft Minn Kota hooked up to the Bow on the Pontoon I had and it worked just fine as long as you weren't fighting any wind.

I had a 24 ft pontoon with a 90 HP on it. It was very roomy but like msgmills said they are not good in the wind. they sit higher up in the water, witch makes them blow all over the place, also mine was horrible on gas.

i know this sounds crazy but i would keep the bass boat i am sure u can fit 3 people in an 18 ft boat. pontoons are big slow and hard to manuever in the wind..... i wouldnt own a pontoon unless i got to keep my bassboat just because my bassboat is my way of getting away and having a good time.... ust my .02 though
