Help From A Stanger , A first for me. Thanks!
Met a fisherman at Cedar Creek yesterday at around 12. Sun was up
and was getting hot,was getting ready to go home after a great morning of fishing for me.This fisherman idled by went down the creek looking around ,turned and came back. We struck up a conversation,as I'm always
ready to talk. I told him I was going to fish a while longer and give it up. He
told me what he was using and having luck, and I had quit using that bait
a few years ago.he said he could show me how to catch fish at that time
and told me where he would be.I thought to myself,I would dought this man catching fish at noon and this hot. So i fish a while longer and my bite was
geting hard to come by ,so I decided to go home.
I'm headed to the truck, and spoted him fishin up ahead so I pull over
to him . He says to throw him my hook over and he puts a bait on it. Well
to shorten it up, I go on to catch 4 fish in a small time in , the heat of the day. He gave me several of the baits and some good instructions. Thats the
first time a fellow angler has given me good advise without paying for it,like
hiring a guide.
David I want to thank you for helping me advance my fishing skills.
Lord knows I need it, as Ive been two years without a first place win In
any tournement. I look foward to fishing with you some to learn more!
How often has any one offered any of you to show you his secrets
to help in any way? Fisherman it doesn't hurt to help your fellow man!

Re: Help From A Stanger , A first for me. Thanks!
There are a few fishermen out there willing to help, I was on Ky Lake fishing with my wife at the 68 bridge. An older gentleman and his wife was fishing near by and was catching one bass after another. I asked what he was doing, he said throw your line over in my boat I with rig ya up. It was a white fluke, at that time I had never heard of one, but he showed me how to work it and sure enough I started catching bass after bass. We talked for about a half hour as it started getting dark. I thanked him for the advice and wished him luck. Super guy, one I will never forget.

Re: Help From A Stanger , A first for me. Thanks!
I was shore fishing one time near a marina, this guy pulls up and is sitting there for awhile, then walks over and we start talking. He asks if I want to go out on the lake, his boston whaler was gereat boat but he needed help setting up. Sure I said, but i want to wear a fpd, OK he says. Well we went I helped him with the downriggers, and flat lines, and we had a great day, caught a few salmon, and afterwarsds he asked me if I was afraid of the water. I told him I was a pretty good swimmer, and what happened to a friend of mine who had his pfds stowed. I ran into him and his buddy a week or so later, we waved, and I noticed, both of them were wearing their pfd, we both learned something on that day.Later that year, took a shore fishermen into the boat with me, and we did good.
