    KY and IN fishing rules......

Question, if you are fishing a tourney on the OH river, for instance, and you venture into IN water, is there a "buffer zone" or something where you can go without having to buy a seperate IN license? I had this come up once before, and in fact I DID this a week ago with no IN license, but I was told you had like a 20 "recipricoal" area in which to fish from one guy and someone else said they were not sure that is true. Just wanna do what's right in the future, so can anyone help with this question please. Thanks.

    Rob

BTW, I gotta fish the OH again this weekend in a tourney so.....lol

As far as I'm aware, you can fish the banks of the Ohio on both sides of the river with either License. But if you go into any creek on any creek that is actually in the other States boundary, i.e. a creek that goes into Indiana, say the Quarry, 14 mile creek you got to have an Indiana License. If you go into Harrods creek you got to have a KY License. But all banks lining the Ohio River itself are fish-able with either License.

    Here's the reg:

    OHIO RIVER FISHING
    (KRS 150.170)
An angler with a Kentucky fishing license may fish the entire main stem of the Ohio River from a boat, or a bordering state’s bank without buying the other state’s license (bordering states include Illinois, Indiana and Ohio). This does not apply if fishing a bordering state’s embayments or tributaries, which begin at a straight line between opposite points where the tributary or embayment meets the main stem of the river.

That's a downloadable pdf file, worth saving.

    Good Luck!
