Heck nobody showed up except for Myself, Chuck, (riverrat12) and Nick and his wife, I think he is branasauras here on the site, may have spelled it wrong. Thanks to riverrat12, Mr. Chuck I caught my personal best catfish to date. It weighed 42lbs and 5ozs. We had one day we won't soon forget. First drift down Chuck catches a 45lb 9oz, we weighed it on Nick's scale, thanks Nick. Next drift down I catch the 42.5, we drive over to Nick he's kind enough to weigh another for us. Then we slow down for a stretch and catch an 8lb blue and a 2lb channel. We then run out of bait so we went and threw the net a few times and got a whopping three shad. So we go out to do a few more drifts. Well the fresh bait made a diffrence because the catmaster Chuck caught a 60lb blue right before dark. We had 158.4 lbs of catfish in five fish, how's that. All big fish were blues and man what fun it is to tangle with fish as big as kids, WOW, thanks Chuck for a really cool time that I won't soon forget. All the other fellas that didn't show, Chris, Doug, John, HurricaneBob, all I can say is guys you missed some big Hawg Cat action, maybe we'll get'em again this Friday.
Man that sounds awesome! Is it usually that good? I mean as far as getting a few big ones like that?
Did you guys get any pics?
Im ready to go for another Friday fish meet. But im riding with Chuck this time!!!!!!!!Lol-j/k.Excellent job guys, hope we can get em like that next time.Looks like ill need a lesson from the master-sensai riverrat12.
No digital with us but we did take some poloroid shots that turned out pretty good. It was just one of those days, NO catching a 158.4 lb's ofcatfish in five fish isn't the norm, but like I said It was one of those days and being with
the Catguru and that day it was on. For those of you that have never caught a cat that big, it's about like hooking a 12 or 13 year old kid in the back of their lifejacket and trying to land them, it's a serious battle. But with the deep sea rods and ocean reels and 50lb test it's amazing how you can actually muscle them. Now getting their big butts in the net and over in the boat is another story, lol. Then when you handle them be careful they will actually lay the smack down on you and hurt you. Thanks Chuck, too much fun, look out Friday I'm getting me a 60 this week.
Glad you had a good time Mark, I hope 6 day's is enough rest, I plan on gettin some big'uns this week...LOL. Hope the water conditions stay about the same and bait is a little easier to come by. Give me a call I think the Doc wants to come with us in his boat this time YEEEEHAAA... Will great guys!!! Did you guys go right behind the hydro? On monday we went in there under the power lines and found a 30ft hole and all the rods were getting hits and thats when chris (big cat) got that one. But it wasn't 30min of getting in that hole they open the upper gate and washed out.
I'm ready BroMine, I'm getting me a 60 this week and I'm gonna crow like a Banchy Rooster, lol.Glad you had a good time Mark, I hope 6 day's is enough rest, I plan on gettin some big'uns this week...LOL. The night you all went, you all certainly had good weather for it, I felt it in my bones.
At normal pool there is actually two 40ft holes, one at the upper dam where it was a little to rough to stay but I know there's a big flat at, and one at the lower dam. You all where probably right on the fringe of. Both are good catfish holes and come winter hold a mess a them good eaten toothy critters.ChuckWill great guys!!!
