Fished from 7:30 to 3:30. Between the two of us, caught a catfish on a crank and two LM dinks on plastic. Missed three bites. No signs of a musky. We fished around the edges of Zilpo flats, the opposite bank, and the creek across from Scott's ramp (lots of stickups). We threw cranks, jigs, plastics. Just about hit a HUGE stump near the bank on the inside of Zilpo flats while idling around. Many giant stumps in that area. I'll bet that is an awesome area during the spawn. The water was clear and about 80 degrees. Rec boaters out in full force by late morning. Saw one water lice get a ticket for violating the "no wake" zone at Scott's creek ramp/marina.
We got the Parking Permit from Crash's Landing at 7 a.m. Nobody open by 7:15 across the road from Scott's.
Conclusion: It is hard to find fish in clear lakes in the summer. I think I'm going to target these sorts of lakes (which are about $75 worth of gas or more away from my home) in the spring or fall.
