Is there a problem with the water at Eagle Creek?

I might go out there friday or saturday and might take a float tube with me. Last year I rented a canoe a few times out there. Each time the person at the rental place made it a point to not touch or get into the water? Is the water there bad or tainted in some way? If so, then maybe I shouldn't use a tube out there.

Last summer there was a toxic alge bloom at Geist, Eagle Creek and Morse, warnings were posted about prolonged exposure to the water. I heard no reports of anyone becoming ill from coming in contact with the water, during this period of time, swimming and water sking continued at Geist.
