Heading to UK tomorrow to meet with the surgery team about some more issues that I am having. I was in St. Joe friday night and my surgeon flat out told me that he could not perform the necessary surgery and nobody at St Joe could and only 2 people in the state of Kentucky can and they are both at UK. He mentioned something about organization of compartments and when we looked it up on the internet we find "Abdominal Compartment Syndrome" which is pretty much outlining all of my complications but not to the absolute worse degree of severity yet. Not a pretty issue to have when you read 40-70% who have this result in death. I don't know if I do or not and won't find out until after meeting with them tomorrow. All I do know is I have 1 hernia behind the mesh that has been there for over a year, and another hernia above the mesh that is only a month old and it is getting worse plus an open wound on my stomach that has not healed up since October 5, 2007. They say the wound issue is due to an abcess pocket behind the wound, which is another symptom of ACS. But after 5 hernia surgeries last year, 8 hernia surgeries in 3 years, weight loss surgery, 2 bouts of staff infection in my stomach, internal bleeding, collapsed lung, shingles in my back and passing 8 kidney stones the past 2 months, my old beat up body has seen enough knifes and needles and looks like more is to come. Hope to get on the water again one of these days and all I ask for is a little luck from you all.
