I'm not much help, but I'd be interested in the replies. I've put my kayak in there a couple of times, but didn't have a lot of luck. I'd like to know how to fish it since it's so close for me.

Was thinking of fishing this area on Sunday. Wondering if anyone here fishes this area much. Any tips would be appreciated.

The bass fishing in the Dix and KY rivers below the dam has been slow lately because of the hot weather. Fishing is best late evening and early morning, but I have seen little activity lately during the day. When the weather cools off, things will chance however.
Ive been fishing that pool, though more toward Camp Nelson. It has been very tough lately, a couple weeks ago it was really on and now it has slowed down. I fished in high water Saturday (only me and one other boat I saw) morning and caught 4. Usually I do much better. Anyway, if you arent on the water by 5:30-6, forget it.
Good luck. Try a spinnerbait on the wood or a weightless trick worm or grub. Also try a med depth shad color crank, or a suspending shad. Thats the only thing I was able to catch them on the other day. very slow retrieve, 5-6 ft depth.
Good luck to you. You'd probably be better off going up to the riffle and fishing for trout tho.
You better get your motor fixed before you go back.
